W.B.A. Statement - 2021 Season

Following the decision taken by the BIBC last week to cancel all their 2021 events including the International Series and Championships due to be held at Llandrindod Wells, officers of
the Welsh Bowling Association met to consider our position in relation to the 2021 season.

It was agreed that as things stand at present it is too early to decide on what the season will look like.

A calendar of events with the season commencing at the start of May with the National Finals taking place at Llandrindod Wells from the 6th to 17th August is currently in place.

Should the start of the season be delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions then the Welsh Bowling Association has in place an alternative calendar of events with the season commencing at the start of June and the National Finals taking place at Llandrindod Wells
from 10th to 20th September.

Officers of the Welsh Bowling Association will continue to monitor the ever-changing situation and will make whatever changes are deemed necessary to ensure that bowlers are given every opportunity to compete this season.

The Welsh Bowling Association is working in conjunction with Bowls Wales and the Welsh Assembly Government to ensure that when bowls do return in Wales it will do so safely and
within the guidelines set out by the Government.

The Welsh Bowling Association will publish regular updates on our website to ensure that both clubs and bowlers are kept abreast of latest position and any decisions that are taken.
