Caerleon Sports Round Up - 10th September

MBA1
Congratulations to Bedwas who are champions after a 14-0 win over Rhymney Gwent in their last match, the result leaves the Gwent needing 8 points at RTB next week to avoid joining Machen in division 2 next year. Croesyceiliog finished with an 11-3 win over Crosskeys to finish third.

MBA 2
Cwmbran won 12-2 at Brynmawr to clinch the title and promotion to division 1 next year, congratulations guys, that result sends Brynmawr down to division 3 next year along with Beaufort and Abertillery. Caldicot are third after beating Pontnewydd 12-2.

MBA 3
St Julians finish second after beating Llanhilleth 12-2, Llanhilleth then went to Bedwellty Park and were beaten again 10-4 but the six points from those two matches were enough to finish above Bedwellty Park on shot difference. Despite finishing with a 10-4 win over champions Rhymney Royal, Panteg House are also relegated and will join Bedwellty Park, Six Bells and Aberca in division 4 next year.

MBA 4
Blaenavon are already crowned champions and will play division 3 next year, Oakdale have two fixtures left this week and will need at least 22 points from them to avoid joining Whiteheads and Caerleon in division 5 next year. Pontymister Welfare will be watching for those results with interest because they are going down if Oakdale succeed.

MBA 5
Beechwood wrapped this one up a few weeks ago and are champions and promoted to division 4 next year.

GBL 1
Bedwas beat RTB 10-2 this week to be crowned champions, a result that also sends RTB down to division 2 next year with Aberca. This weekend Newbridge beat Croesyceiliog 10-2 and Pontymister Athletic won 8-4 at Aberca.

GBL 2
Monmouth are champions after a 55 all draw with Bedwellty and picking up 5 points to 7. Chepstow finish second and are also promoted after three wins this week, 8-4 over Abertillery and 10-2 over Beechwood twice.

GBL 3
Bailey Park won 5-2 at Pontypool to win the league but there are three games outstanding and I haven’t had dates for any of them.
