Round 3
In the closest games of the day, Blaina beat Blackwood on an extra end win, 94-92, with the game going down to the very last bowl. RTB left it late, overtuing a defecite going into the final end to beat Llanhilleth by 4 shots. Rhymney Gwent and Beaufort also won their respective matches to book their qualification to the open knockout stage.
Round 2
A much nicer weekend of weather also allowed the remaining Round 2 matches to be played without interruption. Wins for Crosskeys (who now play Machen), Blaenavon (who now play New Tredegar) and Bedwas (who now play Rhymney Royal) where they will battle it out for the final 3 qualfier positions from Monmouthshire.

Good luck to those who have qualified for the open draw and to those teams who will be playing their final round next week.
 
 
MBA Division 3
New Tredegar opened their league campaign with a maximum 14 points away to Beaufort.
 
 
MBA Division 4
Firbank lead their division despite a 11-3 defeat away to Ynysddu, with Beechwood and Oakdale right behind them after 12-2 wins against their respective opponents.
 
 
MBA Division 5
Pontymister Welfare lead the way with a 12-2 win away to Whiteheads. Gilwe and Newport Athletic also coming away with 10-4 wins to start their league campaign.
 
 
GBL 1
A second win for Croesyceiliog (10-2), sees them top the division over Chepstow who won 10-2 at home to Monmouth. In the Pontymister derby, the spoils were shared at 52-52 but the Welfare edging the game 7-5 on points.
 
 
GBL 2
On Friday night, Abergavenny defeated Abertillery by 4 and backed that up with a 12-0 victory at home to Beechwood on Saturday. There were also wins for Crosskeys and Blackwood.
