Caerleon Sports Round up - Week 5


Inter Association Championship
As the fine weather continues, Friday night saw the start of the Inter Association with 2 games taking place. Rhymney & Sirhowy top the table on shot count after a 31 shot, 18 point win at home to Easte Valley. South Mon also picked up 18 points after their 18 shot win at home to Newport.

 
MBA Division 1
Cwmbran lead the way after a 12-2 (6 shots) win at Pontymister Athletic. Crosskeys opened their league campaign with a convincing 14-0 win away at Blackwood whilst RTB bounced back from their first week defeat with a 12-2 win at Bedwas. Chepstow and Croesyceiliog played out a 78-78 draw but with the home team taking 9 of the 14 points on offer.

MBA Division 2
Caldicot continue their winning start with a 10-4 win at Abergavenny to top the table. Rhymney Gwent (12-2) against Machen, Newbridge (12-2) against Rhymney Royal and Pontypool Park (10-4) against Pontnewydd, all recorded home wins to pick up their first wins of the season.


MBA Division 3
Llanhilleth stay top after a narrow 2 shot (10-4) win at home to Beaufort. Blaina also keep up their 100% record with a 10-4 win at home to Blaenavon. St Julians take 3rd spot after taking maxmium points at home to New Tredegar.


MBA Division 4
Ynysddu continue to lead the division with a 3rd straight win after a 10-4 win at home to Beechwood. Bedwellty Park continue their fine start to the season with a massive win at home to Aberca, picking up another 14 points. Panteg Park are also undefeated following a 12-2 win against Oakdale, whilst Panteg House open their league campaign with 12 points at home to Six Bells.


MBA Division 5
Pontymister Welfare maintain their 100% record with 12 points at Newport Athletic. There were also 12 point wins for Whiteheads at home to Caerleon and Belle Vue at Crickhowell.


GBL Division 1
Pontymister Athletic jump to the top of the table after taking maximum points away to Croesyceiliog who drop to 2nd in the table. Newbridge move up to 3rd with a 10-2 win at RTB. Bedwas record their first win of the season with a 2 shot (8-4) win at Monmouth.
 
GBL Division 2
Crosskeys retu to winning ways with a maximum 12 points at home to Abertillery. Caldicot made it 2 from 2 with their 10-2 win at home to Blaina. with Bedwellty Park also winning (9-3) away at Beechwood.
 
GBL Division 3
Croesyceiliog had to settle for a 2nd draw of the season at home to Cwmbran but remain top. St. Julians jump to 2nd after at 10-0 win at home to Bailey Park. Pontypool Park also claimed the full 10 points at home to Aberca to chalk up their first league win.
