WBA National Finals
Congratulations to the Beaufort rink of Clive Williams, Paul Hayden, Peter Williams and Steve Batten on winning the WBA Senior Fours at Llandrindod Wells this week. The quartet will now go on to represent Wales in the British Isles Championships next year.
 
MBA Division 1
Crosskeys move to within 6 points of securing the title following a 13-1 win over Croesyceiliog. They can only be caught by Cwmbran now who secured at least 2nd spot in the division following their 14-0 win over Chepstow. Pontymister Athletic move to mid table following their 14-0 win over RTB.
 
MBA Division 2
Rhymney Royal continue to hold top spot following a 10-4 win over Pontypool Park Girlings and could secure promotion next week. Newbridge continue to occupy the 2nd promotion spot with a 10-4 win over Machen but a 10-4 win for Pontnewydd over Caldicot sees them move 3rd as they continue to battle for promotion. Abergavenny improved their changes of surviving the drop with a 10-4 win over Rhymney Gwent.
 
MBA Division 3
Blaenavon closed the gap between the top 2 following a 14-0 win at home to Llanhilleth as the leaders St Julian fell to a 10-4 defeat at Beaufort. Despite the defeat, the 4 points St Julian's secured ensures they will play Division 2 bowls next year as they now push to secure the title.
 
MBA Division 4
A 14-0 win in the week for Panteg House over Bedwellty Park sees them move into the 2nd promotion spot. A 2nd defeat in a week for Bedwellty Park at at Panteg Park (10-4) sees them lose ground in their push for promotion. The battle of the top 2 was postponed due to the previous nights heavy rainfall whilst Aberca move out of the dropzone following an 11-3 win over Six Bells.
 
MBA Division 5
Pontymister Welfare continue to maintain their 100% record with a hard fought 10-4 win at Gadiffaith. Whiteheads move into the 2nd promotion spot following a 14-0 win over Belle Vue as Caerleon drop to 3rd following their derby match defeat against Newport Athletic (12-2). Crickhowell move off the bottom with an 11-3 win over Gilwe.
 
GBL Division 1
Pontymister Athletic hold onto the top spot despite a 10-2 defeat and Bedwas, with only a single point the difference as Newbridge move 2nd following their narrow 10-2 win at Monmouth. Chepstow move closer to safety following a 10-2 win over Pontymister Welfare.
 
GBL Division 2
Crosskeys cement their top position with a maximum 12 points away at Beechwood and could secure promotion today with a win at Blaina. Abertillery continue to push for the second promotion place with an 8-4 win at home to Blaina whilst Bedwellty Park picked up a 10-2 win in their encounter against Abergavenny.
 
GBL Division 3
Unfortunate news in the week as Whiteheads informed the MBA they would be unable to fulfil their remaining fixtures in the division and would drop out of the league. With the removal of previous Fixtures, St Julians still hold top spot and following an 8-2 in over Bailey Park, now hold a 10 point lead in the division. Elsewhere Aberca won on both rinks against Pontypool Park Girlings to secure a 10-0 win.
 
County Championship / Senior County Championship
Today and tomorrow sees both our County Championship and Senior County Championship sides play in their respective semi-finals at Llandrindod Wells. Good luck to all of our players and bring home the silverware.
