Pontymister Athletic won the local derby against Pontymister Welfare and now have to avoid defeat to Whiteheads next week to win the section.

RTB won at Bedwas and look good to qualify with home advantage against Crosskeys next week. I haven't had the Firbank - Crosskeys result yet.

Newbridge and Machen both maintained their hundred per cent records and go head to head next week to decide this section.

Six Bells recorded a big win and with Newport Athletic pulling out it looks like a section decider next week between Six Bells and Ynysddu.

Oakdale and Brynmawr won their matches and Brynmawr have to avoid defeat next week at home to Llanwern to win the section.

Abertillery and Llanhilleth both won but Abertillery are in control and need to avoid defeat at home to Standard next week to win the group.

W.B.A. Section 26
Rhymney Gwent best Chepstow to win this section and are the first side from Monmouthshire to qualify for the knockout stages.

W.B.A. Section 27
Abergavenny won to set up a section decider with Blaenavon next week.

W.B.A. Section 28
Pontnewydd beat Pontyfelin but this section is in the hands of Blaina who have to avoid defeat next week to qualify.

Gwent Bowls League Divsion 1
RTB continued their recent good form beating Bailey Park 11-1 and closing in on Beaufort. Caldicot also recorded an 11-1 victory over Blackwood.

Gwent Bowls League Divsion 2
There were wins for Pontypool Park Girlings, Pontymister Welfare and leaders Newbridge who's impressive start continued with five wins from five matches.
