Carruther's Shield, M.B.A. and G.B.L. Results


Carruthers
Mixed fortunes for our clubs in the Carruthers, in the all M.B.A. clash Machen beat Brynmawr by 23, Abertillery won at Bryn Welfare, RTB beat Llanelli and Cwmbran beat Lampeter by four. Pontymister Athletic and Bedwellty were beaten. Good luck to all our clubs in round three.

M.B.A. Division 1
With fixtures depleted due to the Carruthers Beaufort took advantage and beat Crosskeys to go back on top.

M.B.A. Division 2
Rhymney Gwent and Croesyceiliog both recorded home wins to improve their positions.


M.B.A. Division 3
Pontypool Park Girlings go top after picking up twelve points yesterday while leaders Brynmawr played in the Welsh. New Tredegar and Blaina also had wins to close in on the top two.


M.B.A. Division 4
St Julians stay top despite losing at home to Pontnewydd who are second. Third place Oakdale also lost at Abercarn who moved off the bottom, Llanhilleth and Llanwern also won to improve their chances.

M.B.A. Division 5
Whiteheads stay top despite losing at home to Firbank, Ebbw Vale go third after a win at Panteg Park. Not heard from Belle Vue or Newport.

M.B.A. Division 6
Leaders Ynysddu suffered their first defeat at Standard and Gilwern won at Beechwood to stay second.

G.B.L. Division 1
No results in from yesterday (7th July).


G.B.L. Division 2
Newbridge and Pontymister Welfare won their games to stay one and two in the league.
