Evening All, a late report this week following a weekend of Saturday matches followed by 2 days at the Absolute GrassCare 5 Star Touament at RTB Ebbw Vale Bowls Club.
Congratulations to Graig Merthyr Bowls Club who came away as winnings of the Touament with a single shot victory over defending champions Crosskeys Welfare Bowls Club in a fantastic final with a nail biting finish.

WLB Super 9s
Congratulations to Captain Ben Salmon and the rest of the Monmouthshire Under 25 Super 9 team who captured the WLB Junior Super 9s title.
2 Wins against Mid Glamorgan (38-22) and Vale of Glamorgan (47-24) followed by a narrow defeat to South Glamorgan (32-38) saw Monmouthshire top group 2 and progress to the final where they defeating West Glamorgan 46-24.

Carruthers Shield
The first game of this season Carruthers Shield Round 1 matches, which took place a week earlier than scheduled ( as both Rhymney teams are drawn home ) Rhymney Royal took on last years finalists Crosskeys and secured what many see as a shock result with the home team winning on all 4 rinks, 90-54 to secure their place in the 2nd round draw next week.
MBA Division 1
St. Julians backed up their first week with another win, this time a 12-2 win away to Blackwood to sit top of the table. Elsewhere, Bedwas bounced back from their first week defeat by picking up the full 14 points at home to Cwmbran Park.
MBA Division 2
Blaenavon secured their 2nd maximum point win of the season with a convincing win at Pontypool Park Girlings, as Newbridge also maintained their winning start with a 10-4 win at Caldicot.
MBA Division 3
Bedwellty Park (12-2 against Panteg House) and Pontnewydd (14-0 against Chepstow) kept up their winning start to the season to sit 1st and 2nd as Machen recorded their first win of the season with 14 points against Abergavenny.
MBA Division 4
New Tredegar improved on their first week win of 12-2, with a 14-0 win at home to Firbank to sit top of the table. Oakdale also made it 2 from 2 with an 11-3 win at home to Panteg Park. Aberca recorded their first win of the season with maximum points against Beaufort as Abertillery bounced back from their first week defeat with victory at Whiteheads (12-2).
MBA Division 5
Another big win for Six Bells (13-1 at Gilwe) sees them lead the way after 2 weeks, as Newport Athletic also won 12-2 at Crickhowell to sit 2nd in the league. First wins of the season for Pontymister Welfare(12-2 at Caerleon) and PILCS (12-2 at Belle Vue) sees them sit 4th and 6th respectively.
GBL 3 Rink - Division 1
Wins for Croesyceiliog (10-2 vs Blackwood), Crosskeys (10-2 vs Caldicot) and RTB Ebbw Vale(8-4 vs Pontymister Athletic) sees them all maintain their 100% record, as they occupy the top 3 spot in the division.
GBL 3 Rink - Division 2
In the only game of the day, Abergavenny moved upto 2nd place with their first win, a 10-2 win at home to Blaina.
GBL 2 Rink - Division 1
Croesyceiliog (10-0 vs Bailey Park) and Ynysddu (8-2 vs Cwmbran Park) started off their season with wins as the 2 rink league got underway.
GBL 2 Rink - Division 2
Panteg Park (vs Caldicot) and Blackwood (vs Oakdale) both recorded full points as they opened up their campaigns with wins. New Tredegar vs Pontymister Athletic game was postponed to a later date, following the visitors late entry into the league.
