Apologies for the delay in this week's report.

MBA Cup

Friday evening saw the MBA cup continue as teams looked to make it to the last 16 of the competitions. Player shortages across a number of teams meant there were 5 walkovers in the round with Chepstow, Caldicot, New Tredegar, Oakdale and Ynysddu all progressing. In the matches that did take place, there were comfortable wins for Llanhilleth, Pontnewydd, Beaufort, St. Julian's, Crosskeys, RTB Ebbw Vale and Blaina as they all overcame their respective opponents. There was a much closer affair between Pontymister Athletic and Cwmbran Park as the hosts got revenge by a narrow 6 shots following their  defeat in the Carruthers Shield 2 weeks to the same team. Newport Athletic and Aberca also played out a nail-biting finish, with the visitors coming away victorious by 3 shots.

MBA Division 1

A full schedule of matches resumed following the Carruthers break with the top 2 from last season battling it out in a very close encounter. Crosskeys edged Blackwood by 4 shots,  maintaining their 100% start to the season. Blaina remain 2nd after picking up 9 points in a game that ended all square with Croesyceiliog. Ynysddu (11-3 at St. Julian's) and Bedwas ( 10-4 Vs Pontymister Athletic) both came away with wins and moved up into table to sit 4th and 5th. 

MBA Division 2

RTB Ebbw Vale moved to the top as they continue their winning start to the season with a closely fought 12-2 with over Rhymney Gwent. Cwmbran Park moved into 2nd spot as they also collected 12 points against Caldicot. A further 12 points for Blaenavon ( v Newbridge ) sees them move into 4th place whilst Bedwellty Park secured their first win of the season with a 10-4 win over Pontnewydd. 

MBA Division 3

Panteg House remain top despite falling to a 12-2 defeat against Abertillery leaving Pontypool Park the chance to close the gap with them as they secured a 10-4 win at Rhymney Royal. New Tredegar remain 3rd despite an 11-3 defeat to Beechwood whilst Chepstow move upto 4th with a 12-2 win over Llanhilleth.

MBA Division 4

Aberca continue to lead the way with their 4th consecutive win as they overcame Panteg Park 12-2. Oakdale also have a 100% start to the season and move up to 2nd place following their 11-3 win over Machen. Elsewhere Six Bells picked up their first win of the season to move off the bottom with a 12-2 win at Abergavenny. 

MBA Division 5

Oakdale Welfare moved to the top of the division with a resounding 14-0 win over Gadiffaith. Whiteheads sit 1 point further back in the table following their 12-2 win over Caerleon. A 12-2 win for Belle Vue sees them pick up their first win of the season to move up to 4th whilst PILCS also won their first game of the campaign as they picked up a 12-2 win at home to Gilwe. 

3 Rink - GBL Division 1

Blackwood (0-12 at Pontymister Athletic) and Crosskeys ( 2-10 at Croesyceiliog) still occupy the top 2 spots despite both falling as both of the winning teams close the gap with the top 2 to single figures. Monmouth retued to winning ways as they won 10-2 against Bedwellty Park whilst RTB Ebbw Vale also bounced back from last week's defeat, winning 10-2 at Newbridge. 

3 Rink - GBL Division 2

A first win of the season for Caldicot sees them condem Chepstow to their first defeat of the season as the home side collected all 12 points on offer with a big win. Elsewhere Ynysddu edged out Bedwas in a tight game by 2 shots, picking up 9 points. 

2 Rink - GBL Division 1

Bailey Park remain top of division 1 as they came away with an 8-2 win at Pontypool Park. Pontymister Athletic kept their winning start to the season, as they also won 8-2 against Croesyceiliog to move up into 2nd. 10-0 wins for Beaufort (Vs Caldicot) and Panteg House ( at New Tredegar ) sees both sides move up in the division to 4th and 6th respectively. 

2 Rink - GBL Division 2

A quieter weekend in division with only 2 games being played.  Saturday saw Abertillery move up into 3rd place with a 10-0 win over Bedwellty Park. Panteg Park continue to set the pace in the division as they recorded their 5th straight win with victory over Crickhowell (10-0)
