MBA Cup 3rd Round
Friday evening saw the MBA Cup continue as clubs battled it out to reach the quarter finals. Blaina lead the way with a convincing win over defending champions RTB Ebbw Vale whilst Oakdale, Chepstow and St. Julian's also came away with comfortable wins to reach the last 8. An 11 shot win for Pontnewydd over Ynysddu sees them into the next round. Crosskeys edged out Beaufort by 6 shots in a very close battle but it was the Pontymister Athletic and Croesyceiliog game ended the closed encounter as the visitors snatched victory by the smallest of margins, 1 shot. New Tredegar also progressed as Caldicot were unable to field a side.

WLB Carruthers Shield
Saturday saw the last 32 of the Carruthers Shield take place with the 7 Monmouthshire qualifiers looking to move further into the competition. Blaina travelled to defending champions Harlequins and despite a valiant effort, the home side pulled away in the closing ends to claim victory. Crosskeys travelled to West Wales where they came away with a comfortable win against Saundersfoot whilst back home in the county, Beaufort also moved into the next round with victory over Cymmer BC. A tightly contest game at RTB Ebbw Vale saw them defeat Tenby whilst Llanhilleth (v Tregaron) and Croesyceiliog (v Pontrhydyfen) both made use of their home advantage to also progress. Unfortunately Panteg House fell to defeat at Merthyr West End.

MBA Division 1
With a few teams involved in the Carruthers, the only game of the afteoon saw Pontymister Athletic moved up to 3rd place as they collected a 10-4 win over Ynysddu.
MBA Division 2
Pontnewydd closed the gap at the top as the won 10-4 of division leaders RTB Ebbw Vale. Bedwellty Park rose in the standings to 3rd as they came away with a 12-2 win at Cwmbran Park. Newbridge moved up 1 place as they also came away with a 12-2 win at Rhymney Gwent.
MBA Division 3
A comfortable 12-2 win for Chepstow sees them rise to 4th in the table whilst New Tredegar won a nail-biting encounter at Pontypool Park by a single shot, (12-2) and now sit 3rd in the table.
MBA Division 4
Aberca extended their winning start to the season to 5 games as they won 12-2 against Beaufort. Oakdale also have a 100% record from their first 4 games as they brought home 10 points from Abergavenny. Panteg Park move up to 5th with a 12-2 win over Machen whilst Six Bells move up 1 place following their 10-4 win over Crickhowell.
MBA Division 5
A full 14 points for Whiteheads at Gadiffaith sees them take over at the top of the division as the previous leaders Firbank fell to their first defeat of the season, a 12-2 defeat to Belle Vue. Pontymister Welfare collected all 14 points with a big win against Gilwe whilst PILCS moved into 3rd place following their 10-4 win at Caerleon. Sunday saw Gilwe bounce back from defeat on the Saturday to record a big win themselves, a 13-1 win over Oakdale Welfare.
3 Rink GBL - Division 1
Blackwood are the new leaders of Division 1 as they won the top of the table clash with Croesyceiliog 10-2. RTB Ebbw Vale move up 1 place despite falling to a 10-2 defeat at home to Bedwellty Park. Elsewhere, Newbridge recorded their first win of the season as they won 12-0 against Crosskeys.
3 Rink GBL - Divsion 2
Chepstow remain top of Division 2 as they won a close encounter at Bedwas, 8-4 with the home sides 4 points enough to see them move into 2nd place despite defeat. Caldicot rise to 4th in the standings with a convincing win against Abergavenny 12-0. Ynysddu and Blaina was postponed due to the home side have player shortages.
2 Rink GBL - Division 1
There was a 10-0 win for Pontymister Athletic as they made it 4 wins from 4 and condemned Bailey Park to their first defeat of the season. Bailey Park still remain top but Pontymister Athletic have now cut their lead to 10 points with 2 games in hand. Caldicot picked up their first of the season to move off the bottom of the table as they saw off Panteg House in a nail-biting finish to win by 2 shots, picking up 8 points. The remaining matches in the division were postponed.
2 Rink GBL - Division 2
An early match in the week saw Crickhowell and Oakdale have to settle for a share of the points as they played out a draw, 5-5. To the weekend, Unfortunately there were 2 matches postponed due to player shortages but Abertillery came away with an 8-2 win at Oakdale whilst Blackwood took all 10 points from their visit to Bedwellty Park.
