Caerleon Sports Round up - Week 1
WBA - Round 1
Round 1 of the new knockout format got underway with 12 games being played. The winners joining the 16 teams with byes in Round 2.
In the closest games of the afteoon, Bedwas overcame division 1 rivals Pontymister Athletic by 6 shots and Rhymney Royal beating Cwmbran Park by 4 shots. There were also wins for Abertillery, Bedwellty Park, Llanhilleth, Caldicot, New Tredegar, Gadiffaith, Panteg Park, Whiteheads, St Julians and RTB Ebbw Vale.
Thanks to all clubs for submitting results quickly. The 2nd Round is now available on the website and we will look to live stream the 3rd round draw following next weeks games.
MBA Division 5
Last Week (22nd April), Crickhowell marked their retu to the MBA league with a 10-4 win at home to Whiteheads to lead the way.
GBL Division 1
RTB lead the way after picking up maximum points away to Monmouth. There were also 8-4 wins for Pontymister Athletic and Newbridge.
GBL Division 2
Blaina and Crosskeys opened their accounts with 12-0 wins against their respective oppontents. Caldicot also came away with a 10-2 win away to Beechwood.
GBL Division 3
In a game brought forward from the original schedule, Croesyceiliog started their league campaign with a strong 12-0 win away to Cwmbran Park.
