Weekly Match Roundup from around the county

Hi guys, after the trials and tribulations of the W.B.A. groups we all return to league action this week.

MBA 1
Machen and Beaufort both recorded big wins to remain early leaders, Cwmbran also won at Pontymister Athletic but pride of place surely goes to Crosskeys who won at RTB, the champions second defeat in the league.

MBA 2
Couple of tight results here with Newbridge beating Bedwellty Park by one shot and even closer, Blackwood won at Rhymney Gwent by half a shot. Croesyceiliog won against Caldicot and Abertillery stay top with an impressive win against Abergavenny. So it's Abertillery and Blackwood the early leaders with three from three.

MBA 3
Brynmawr are now the only unbeaten team here beating Rhymney Royal at home. There were wins also for Caerleon, by two shots, Pontypool Park Girlings and New Tredegar.

MBA 4
Pacemakers are Llanwern who beat Pontymister Welfare, Llanhilleth remain second despite losing at St Julians, Oakdale won at Panteg House and Pontnewydd move into third with a one shot win at Abercarn.

MBA 5
Belle Vue and Whiteheads both maintained their 100% records to lead the way followed by Newport Athletic who won at Monmouth.

MBA 6
Ynysddu and Gilwern both won to remain top. Garndiffaith recorded their first league win of the season at Pontyfelin.

Gwent Bowling League Division 1
Beaufort fell from the top after their game at Bedwas was postponed, Chepstow replacing them after winning against Crickhowell. Blackwood and Caldicot both also winning.

Gwent Bowling League Division 2
Newbridge regained top spot after winning at Bedwellty Park and Rogerstone beat Caerleon. Blaina were left without a game again as Pontymister Welfare called off and I haven't heard from the Belle Vue - Pontypool Park Girlings game.

Monmouthshire Cup
There are two games outstanding from round one, Monmouth play Croesyceiliog today and Ynysddu play Pontnewydd on Wednesday so all second round matches should go ahead as planned next Friday.
